Four young people from FireFit Hub were treated to tickets to see Liverpool F.C. take on Manchester City F.C. at the iconic Anfield Stadium.

The tickets came courtesy of The Anfield Wrap, who visited Toxteth to learn about the support being provided to young people at FireFit Youth and Community Hub.

John Gibbons, Head of Partnerships & External Content at The Anfield Wrap, said:

“We are always keen to learn more about people doing great things in our city and support them in any way we can. Thanks so much to Torus Foundation for inviting us down to FireFit Hub to see the great work they are doing with young people in their community. We heard loads of them were massive Reds, and many hadn’t yet been to Anfield, so we were delighted to be able to get them six tickets for the Liverpool v Man City game, which we’d been asked to find a good home for. We hope it was an amazing experience they’ll never forget”

Thanks to the generosity of The Anfield Wrap, FireFit Hub members were given the experience of a lifetime:

“Wow, I’ve been to a charity game before, but this hits completely different.”

“I can’t believe we got to see the best game of the season by far.”

“I’ve never been to Anfield on match day. The noise is sick, I can’t believe how good the atmosphere is.”

“This is the best day ever, I can’t believe we got to do this.”

“Pity about the result, but it’s hard to be down, I’m still buzzing from going to the game and seeing that free kick.”

“My dad lives by the ground, but I never get to go with him, we usually just go the pub nearby so we can try and hear the crowd. Now I can say I’ve been.”

While the result didn’t go in Liverpool’s favour, it won’t be the final score that stays in our members’ memories. It will be the roar of the crowd, the atmosphere, the camaraderie between supporters, the players’ sportsmanship, and much more.
